On February 4, at 3:00 PM, the Civic Orchestra of Tucson (COT) will play its' annual benefit concert at Christ Church United Methodist. This concert will feature the Grand Canyon Suite, Finlandia, excerpts from The Nutcracker, and a Young Artists' Competition (YAC) winner as a soloist. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students (18 and under). Funds go toward prize money and other expenses of the competition. Local artist, Jude Enida Sheldon has created a beautiful pastel of the Grand Canyon which is used in concert publicity, and will be auctioned-off at the concert, All proceeds from the auction will support the YAC. Civic Orchestra performs 8 free concerts throughout the Tucson area every season. The benefit is the only concert for which there is an entrance fee.
